The solutions presented to the BID and local authority revolved around the creation of a cohesive and consumer-facing brand that would enhance the overall experience in Purley. The first solution involved the development of a bespoke wayfinding system tailored specifically to the town’s unique needs. Alternatively, we proposed utilising TfL’s Legible London package, aligning with the broader strategy for the borough.
In tandem with these solutions, we are actively collaborating with Croydon Council and TfL to implement the Legible London scheme, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with the borough’s policies and objectives. Additionally, we are spearheading the upgrade of ADS signage throughout the highway network, ensuring that information is clear, consistent, and in harmony with the newly established brand and wayfinding strategy.
By taking this comprehensive approach, we aim to not only address the historical signage and navigation problems but also create a brand that is deeply relevant to Purley’s history and meaning. The end result will be a town centre that is more welcoming, accessible, and user-friendly for all.
