What is new in your business? Shout about it!

Every now and then it’s important to reflect on the products and services you’re offering and make sure that everything you’re offering is still relevant. It would be silly and a waste of your time to continually produce and promote a product that just isn’t necessary anymore, or has better alternatives elsewhere.

During this reflection, you may realise that what you’re offering is still very relevant, but there are more products and services you want to add to your repertoire. This is a big decision, so make sure you’re not just adding new products for the sake of it. However, if you decide to do so, here is everything you’re going to need to know…

If you’re adding a product or service, you need to let your customers know that you’re doing so. Remember, they aren’t mind readers, although it would be great if they were! So what’s the best way to let your customers know about the launch of a new addition to your product or service list? A new marketing campaign.

Marketing Campaign

A marketing campaign for a new product can be simple and effective if done right. However, if approached in the wrong way, it can easily become an expensive waste of time. The first thing you need to decide on is the target audience for this new service. Is it the same as your existing audience? Or, will it require a bit of market research? If you decide that you will be marketing to a different market segment make sure you do the following:

  • Make a customer avatar
  • Research their buying habits and patterns
  • Look how your competitors are marketing to them ( Remember – you don’t have to copy this, it’s just for reference)
  • Look into the best platforms to reach them on – social media, traditional etc.
  • Give them a name so you can easily talk about them

Once you have all of the above squared up, you can then begin to develop the rest of your marketing campaign. Email marketing campaigns are great for product launches for existing customers because you have already got the emails, and all you need to do is craft the perfect email. However, if you’re looking to reach new audiences, you might consider launching a well managed social media campaign.

New Event? The Perfect Time to Rebrand

Maybe you’re perfectly happy with the services and products you’re currently offering, but you want to launch a new event. If you are thinking about hosting an event, you may be thinking about your current branding… is it up to par? Or, is this the perfect opportunity to rebrand and launch the event with your new look!

There’s quite a bit of planning that goes into successfully planning and running an event. Here are a few things that you’ll need to keep in mind if you’re thinking about promoting an event:

  1. Social campaign to talk about the event
  2. Sponsorship
  3. Partnerships
  4. Email campaign
  5. PR
  6. Video

Overall, there is a lot to think about when adding a service, product or event to your organisation. Hopefully, this article has given you some insight around what you need to keep in mind. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re always happy to have a chat.
